What is a Certified Technician?

The RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Program is a collaborative industry program developed by dealer, manufacturer, and supplier representatives. The program is designed to make the nation's nine million RV owners even more satisfied with their motorhome, travel trailer or truck camper by creating a network of qualified, professional RV technicians across the country. These professionals have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to satisfy established standards in RV diagnostics and repair procedures, as adopted by the Governing Board. The program tests and certifies only individuals; not Dealerships, companies, or other types of business entities.

There are two levels of certification:

Certified Technician - Must have answered correctly 150 or more questions on the exam

Master Certified Technician - Must have answered correctly 176 or more questions on the exam and have 5 years or more experience as an RV technician

Technicians must be recertified every 5 years.
